What We Collect

We collect account information such as email address, username, login provider, plan status, billing identifiers, legal acceptance records, product analytics events, and usage records. When you use oye, live audio is processed to create transcripts, translations, captions, saved sessions, and related service output.

Saved Sessions

Text sessions may be saved depending on your plan. Retention periods vary by plan and are shown in the product. You can delete saved sessions in the product or contact us for help with deletion requests.

Why We Use Data

We use data to provide the service, authenticate users, process live transcription and translation, maintain saved sessions, understand signup and product usage, generate session summaries when available, prevent abuse, support billing, improve reliability, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Legal Bases

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process account, service, and billing data mainly to provide the service under our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as security and reliability.

Service Providers

We use service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, payment, transcription, translation, summaries, analytics, security, and operations. This includes providers such as Soniox for speech transcription and translation, Google/Firebase for authentication and storage, Stripe for billing, PostHog for product analytics when configured, and OpenAI for optional saved-session summaries when configured.

Audio and Model Training

We do not sell your audio, transcripts, or translations. We do not use church or event audio to train our own speech models. Our transcription and translation providers are instructed to process submitted audio and text only as needed to provide the service.

Your Choices

You can delete saved sessions in the product. You can request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of your personal data by contacting us.

International Use

oye may be used internationally, and data may be processed in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
